We still do not know one thousandth of one percent of what nature has revealed to us. – Albert Einstein
Abby works as an aquatic scientist in the Water Research Group at the Natural Resources Research Institute in Dr. Euan Reavie’s paleo/phyto lab. Her current research continues the investigation of ballast-borne, protist risk-release relationships in addition to testing ballast water treatment systems as a protist analyst with the Great Waters Research Collaborative. Soon, she will be venturing into the world of paleolimnology and the investigation of diatoms in the Laurentian Great Lakes’ sediment records. Her interests include aquatic invasive species, algal taxonomy, mesocosm studies, paleolimnology, and ballast water treatment testing. In her free time, she loves to watch Star Trek, read, hike, kayak, and sample myriad whiskeys and craft beers!
