“Be clearly aware of the stars and infinity on high, then life seems almost enchanted after all” - Vincent Van Gogh
I am an undergraduate student at the College of Wooster, currently studying Geology, with an interest in paleoclimate and paleolimnology. My current senior thesis focuses on the effects of climate change and land use on small alpine lakes in the Eastern Sierra Nevada, with a particular interest in the changes to diatom communities present. I first became interested in diatoms after seeing them under the microscope for the first time my freshman year of college, and I’m still fascinated by the complexity and beauty that can be found in the microscopic world, everywhere you look!
