“Science, my lad, is made up of mistakes, but they are mistakes which it is useful to make, because they lead little by little to the truth.” ― Jules Verne, A Journey to the Center of the Earth
I am a Master’s Student at The Ohio State University where my research focuses on using lake sediment cores to track the introduction and spread of Discostella astercostata, an invasive diatom species in the U.S. My general research interest is in using microorganisms in the fossil record to study shifts in evolutionary and ecological trends through time; and then using this research to help inform and support current conservation efforts.
