In nature nothing exists alone. - Rachel Carson
I finished my BA in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at CU Boulder in 2012, and finished an MSc program in Ecosystem-Based Management of Marine Systems at the University of St Andrews in 2016. While at CU, I worked in Pat Kociolek's lab studying Actinella from the Hawaiian islands. My master's thesis focused on mapping out the extent of aquaculture-related noise pollution on the west coast of Scotland, and I'm broadly interested in questions of diatom habitat preferences and geographic distribution. At the most basic level, I just love looking at diatoms under a microscope.
