Everything you can imagine, nature has already created. - Albert Einstein
I am a paleoecologist and a palynologist. My PhD research project involved the pollen analysis for reconstructing the vegetation history during the last 3000 years in central Italy. During my bachelor and master degrees my activity has been focused on forest ecology, dendrology and ecophysiology.
My research interests include pollen, fungal spores, algae, charcoal and ancient DNA (aDNA) as proxies to investigate past environmental and landscape changes. Studying diatoms represents a great opportunity for me to improve my knowledge of the complex micro-world preserved in lake sediments.
