Few objects are more beautiful than the minute siliceous cases of the diatomaceæ: were these created that they might be examined and admired under the higher powers of the microscope? - C. Darwin 1872
I am a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh studying environmental controls of Didymosphenia geminata stalk production in the St Mary’s River, Michigan with Bob Pillsbury. I am interested in ecology, phycology, paleolimnology, and anything and everything to do with diatoms.
