The power of imagination makes us infinite - John Muir
I am a M.S. student at the University of Vermont and my research interests include paleolimnology, aquatic and ecosystem ecology, and harmful algal blooms. My current research focuses on how diatoms and modern ecological data can be used to assess the susceptibility of low nutrient lakes in Vermont recovering from acid rain deposition to algal blooms. Past research has included investigating diatom community shifts in a high alpine lake in the southern Peruvian Andes. Ever since being introduced to diatoms in my undergraduate experience I have been intrigued by their intricacies and their role as environmental indicators of past climates.
