SPECIES OF STRELNIKOVIELLA ARE ONLY KNOWN FROM FOSSIL DEPOSITS
Valves are round, with a flat valve face. Areolae are loculate. Externally, formina are simple and round. Internally, cribra are variably domed. Areolae are arranged in radial rows, with the rows varying in length. At the valve margin, areolae are small and densely packed. Marginal fultoportulae are present at regular intervals around the valve margin. Externally, the fultoportula are not distinguishable. Internally, each fultoportula possesses four satellite pores. A single rimoportula is present at the valve margin, in line with the fultoportulae. Externally the rimoportulae are extended tubes. Internally, the rimoportula is oriented along the radius and has a radially labiate opening. Small spines are present at the valve margin.
Strelnikoviella is only known from Miocene fossils in North America, from lacustrine deposits in New Mexico and Nebraska (Kociolek et al 2014, Bishop et al. 2018).
