In the genus Neidium, a lacinia is a flap of silica with a triangular shape, which covers an external, distal raphe end. From Latin for flap of a garment. Plural is laciniae.
Internally, the distal raphe end of Neidium is straight and terminates in a thickened, raised helictoglossa.
