Compare

Amphora calumetica is distinct within the genus in North America. In other parts of the world, A. calumeticoides (Africa) has a longer dorsal crest and smaller, semi-elliptic valves. Amphora dentata (Lake Hövsgöl, Mongolia) and A. cristodentata (Lake Baikal, Russia) have dorsal crests with distinct ridges.
