  1. Valves elliptical-lanceolate
  2. Apices rostrate to subcapitate
  3. Stauros "X"-shaped
  4. Pseudosepta present

Valves are elliptical-lanceolate with rostrate to subcapitate apices. Pseudosepta are present at the ends. A central stauros is "X"-shaped. Striae are radiate. Areolae are small, circular and number approximately 40 in 10 μm.
