Cosmioneis reimeri is most similar to in shape to C. grossepunctata but C. reimeri is larger and more lanceolate. Cosmioneis reimeri is also greater in maximum length than C. grossepunctata (62 μm vs. 38 μm) and maintains its distinct lanceolate shape and higher stria density.
