Valves are broadly rhomboid-lanceolate, with strongly arched dorsal and ventral margins. Valves are large and greater than 30 µm wide. Proximal raphe ends are straight, terminating with expanded pores. Striae are coarsely punctate, with areolae numbering 14-22 in 10 µm.
