Cymbopleura incertiformis var. linearis has linear, dorsiventral valves, with parallel sides. The ventral margin may be weakly concave. The apices are subrostrate or cuneate and nearly straight, rather than deflected dorsally or ventrally. Distal raphe ends are hooked toward the dorsal margin.
