Valves of Cymbopleura stauroneiformis have much larger central areas that are often present as fascias. Valves of Encyonopsis montana are more narrow relative to their length, have a smaller central area, proximal raphe ends that are deflected dorsally and terminal fissures curved towards the ventral margin.
