Cymbopleura perprocera has large lanceolate valves with narrow beaked apices. The axial area is one-fourth to one-third the width of the valve. Proximal raphe ends are weakly expanded and tipped slightly to the ventral side. Areolae in the striae number 16-22 in 10 µm
