  5. Longitudinal canals narrow

Valves are elliptic to oval. Central is small and round to oval. Striae are coarse and number 6-7 in 10 µm. Areolae are also coarse, 8 in 10 µm. Longitudinal canals are narrow and are not expanded at the central area.
