  1. Valve apices broadly rounded
  2. Dorsal striae radiate
  3. Ventral striae radiate in center, becoming parallel toward apices
  4. Distal raphe fissures terminate before valve margin

Valves with broadly rounded apices. In larger valves, the apices are rostrate and ventrally bent. Distal raphe fissures terminate before reaching the valve margin. Dorsal striae are radiate throughout, while ventral striae are radiate at the center of valve and become parallel near the valve apices.
