Epithemia Smithii Guide
  1. Valves >9 µm wide
  2. Apices recurved dorsally
  3. Costae 3-6 in 10 µm
  4. Striae 2-5 between costae

Valves are large, greater than 9 µm wide. The apices are subrostrate and recurved dorsally. Costae number 3-6 in 10 µm and there are 2-5 striae between costae.
