  3. Helictoglossae small, distinct
  4. Ends attenuated to acutely rounded

Frustules with amphoroid symmetry because valves have deeper dorsal mantles. Valves strongly arcuate with attenuated ends in larger valves, acutely rounded ends in smaller valves. Helictoglossae distinct but small. Two rimoportulae per valve.
