Compare

In E. subherkiniensis, the apices are more dorsally recurved and the dorsal undulations are more pronounced than in E. kociolekii. Compared to E. bigibba, valves of E. subherkiniensis are shorter and narrower. Compared to E. herkiniensis, E. subherkiniensis is generally shorter and narrower with a lower stria density.
