Eunotia tenella valves are broader, the ends are not as distinctly curved, and the striae are not as dense as valve of E. enischna. *Eunotia tenella valve ends are not as strongly dorsally recurved as in E. exigua and E. cataractarum. The dorsal margin of E. tenella is less convex than in E. exigua. The valve size range of E. tenella is shorter and the apices are more broadly rounded compared to E. paludosa.
