Frustulia krammeri is generally much larger and has less dense, more wavy striae than F. inculta. Frustulia krammeri has striae that do not circumradiate the apices, while the striae of F. amphipleuroides, F. rexii and F. saxonica do circumradiate the apices. The porte-crayon and distal portion of the longitudinal ribs are more slender in F. krammeri than in F. rexii. Frustulia krammeri has much less noticeably undulate margins and less protracted apices than F. quadrisinuata. Frustulia krammeri has a much lower stria density than F. saxonica (30-33 in 10 µm).
