The longitudinal ribs of F. latita are incomplete at the central area, while the ribs of F. soror and F. capitata are complete on one side (the side to which the proximal raphe ends are deflected). Longitudinal ribs are absent in F. creuzburgensis. The central areas of F. soror and F. capitata are borth more linear than that of F. latita. In addition, the stria density is higher in F. soror than in F. latita. Compared to F. weinholdii, valves of F. latita are less elliptic in shape.
