Compare

This taxon is often confused with other small naviculoid species. Geissleria acceptata is smaller and more elliptic in shape than G. paludosa. While G. acceptata is similar in size and shape to Navicula submuralis, N. subrotundata, and Craticula subminuscula, only G. acceptata possesses annulae.
