Gomphosphenia tackei has slightly wider-spaced striae around the central area and a slightly smaller central area. Gomphosphenia americana has a wide, bluntly to broadly rounded head pole. Gomphosphenia praegnans is broadly lanceolate-clavate with an inflated middle and rostrate head and foot poles.
