  4. Valves often dorsally recurved

Valves are small and lanceolate. Longer valves have protracted apices, which can be recurved dorsally. Areolae are coarse and irregularly spaced. Fibulae are coarse and extend to the apical axis, numbering 6-7 in 10 µm.
