Compare

Hippodonta hungarica differs from H. capitata by elliptical-lanceolate valves with rounded ends. It is somewhat similar in valve outline to H. capitata subsp. iberoamericana, which has more protracted valve ends and, on average, a higher stria density and more narrow striae.
