Compare

Encyonopsis lacusglacialis and E. subspicula have straight, rather than sinuous striae. Encyonopsis neoamphioxys has linear-lanceolate valves with nearly flat ventral margins. Encyonopsis montana and E. stodderi both lack a stigma. Encyonopsis spicula, a tropical species, has narrower valves and straight striae.
