Compare

Both M. alansmithii and M. hohii have rimoportulae that are positioned mid-valve and subcapiate apices. Meridion hohii has shorter and wider valves than M. alansmithii. In M. circulare var. constrictum, the rimoportula is positioned at, or near, the head pole.
