Navicula slesvicensis differs from N. viridula and N. viridulacalcis by a symmetric central nodule and straight, dilated external proximal raphe ends. Navicula streckerae has smaller, more slender valves with narrower ends and coarser areolae. Navicula vaneei has more lanceolate valves without protracted ends.
