Navicula streckerae is distinguished from N. slesvicensis by its more lanceolate (less linear) valves, more strongly radiate striae, coarser areolae, and narrower ends; from N. vaneei by its protracted ends; and from N. rhynchocephala by its coarser areolae and preference for brackish (not fresh) waters.
