Navicula weberi may be distinguished from N. concentrica by its obtusely rounded apices and convergent striae at the apices. Navicula pseudolanceolata has narrower apices, where the striae are radiate to parallel. Navicula pseudoppugnata has broadly rounded to cuneate apices, more widely spaced striae and a smaller central area. Navicula novaesiberica has wedge-shaped apices and a higher areola density.
