Neidiopsis weilandii has larger, linear valves with cuneate to subrostrate apices. Neidiopsis vekhovii has linear valves with triundulate margins. Neidiopsis levanderi has triundulate valves and straight proximal raphe ends. Neidiopsis hamiltonii has lanceolate valves and straight proximal raphe ends. In Neidium species, proximal raphe ends are hooked towards opposite sides of the valve.
