Neidium dilatatum has larger valves (L: 174-269 µm, B: 40-55 µm, Lefebvre & Hamilton 2015) with a higher stria density (16-19 in 10 µm). Neidium ampliatum has a higher stria density (20-22 in 10 µm, Silver & Hamilton 2011) and more broadly rounded apices. Neidium amphigomphus has wider valves (23-38 µm) and less cuneate apices.
