  1. Valve small, <15 µm in length
  2. Valves lanceolate to elliptic-lanceolate
  3. Raphe reduced on one valve
  4. Striae unresolvable in LM

Valves are small, lanceolate to elliptic-lanceolate. One valve has shortened raphe slits. The axial area is linear-lanceolate, sometimes widening into a small round or elliptic central area. Striae are unresolvable in LM. Areolae form 3-4 longitudinal rows on each side of the raphe.
