Proschkinia bulnheimii has a lower stria density (~22 in 10 µm) and a linear lanceolate valve outline. The striae along the entire length of the valves are resolvable in LM, and are nearly parallel throughout. The internal opening of the fistula is located at the junction of the axial rib and the internal valve face (SEM).
