Compare

Psammothidium daonense has larger valves and rhomboidal axial area on the rapheless valve. The valves of P. chlidanos are wider and more elongated. Psammothidium lacus-vulcani has an asymmetrical central area on the raphe valve and lacks a central area on the rapheless valve.
