PSEUDOSTAUROSIRA ELLIPTICA HAS NOT BEEN VERIFIED IN NORTH AMERICA

Valves of P. elliptica are elliptical to lanceolate with cuneate to rounded ends. Striae are short and usually composed of one round areola on the valve face and another on the valve mantle.
