  2. Striae narrower than costae

Valves are lanceolate to elliptic, with broadly rounded ends to linear with subrostrate, rounded ends. Striae are narrower than the costae and formed by round areolae. Areolae decrease in size from valve face edge toward axial area. Spines are hollow, spatulate and positioned on the striae. Two distinct pore fields are present at each apex.
