I am an undergraduate student majoring in Biological Sciences at Drexel University. First, I began working with the diatoms my freshman year as a volunteer at the Dr. Potapova’s lab. Amazed by the incredibly significant impact of the diatoms on the world around us, I was once again convinced how important it is to never stop researching and look for the answer in the most unexpected places. However, most importantly it is crucial to preserve the knowledge we have already gained, add to it, and finally pass it down to the generations. Now, when I am a co-op student at Professor Potapova’s lab, I am more than happy to contribute to protecting and maintaining such heirloom as diatoms.

Diatoms of North America is running a fundraising campaign to keep the servers in operation. We need you to reach our $25,000 fundraising goal.
