I'm a PhD candidate at George Mason University. My research interests lie within the fields of algal ecology and taxonomy, physiology, and environmental health. I worked under Dr. Kalina Manoylov for my MS studying diatom communities in the southeast. I currently work under Dr. Rosalina Stancheva, where my research focus is on how environmental factors affect the life history and toxin production of different Microcoleus (Cyanobacteria) species. I am also serving as an algal taxonomist on the Shenandoah River Project, where we identify all benthic algae and cyanobacteria to the species level.
