Dr. Zlatko Levkov has research interests in many aspects of diatom biology: taxonomy and biogeography, systematics and phylogeny, species flocks in ancient lakes, palaeoecology and palaeolimnology, species composition of glacial lakes, estuaries and coastal waters, monitoring of pollution based on diatoms and applications to forensic sciences.
