  1. Valves rhombo-elliptic
  2. Axial area rhombic-lanceolate
  3. Central area elliptic
  4. Proximal raphe ends straight
  5. Striae biseriate

Valves are rhombo-elliptic. The axial area is rhombic-lanceolate and widens into an elliptic central area. Proximal raphe ends are straight. Striae are biseriate but continue as one or two (in larger valves up to three) irregularly placed areolae above the canals.
