  1. Dorsal margin strongly arched
  2. Ventral margin slightly tumid
  3. Areolae coarse
  4. Proximal raphe ends deflected dorsally

Valves are strongly arched dorsally, slightly tumid ventrally and may have slightly protracted ends in larger specimens. The areolae are coarse and clearly visible. Dorsal striae are radiate near the ends of the valve. Ventral striae are slightly radiate.
