Encyonopsis moseri has more rostrate apices and a smaller breadth. Encyonopsis perborealis has a smaller breadth and slightly higher stria density. Encyonopsis vandamii has a similar shape to E. thumensis in smaller valves, but can be distinguished by E. vandamii’s less rostrate apices in larger valves and higher stria density throughout its size range.
