Compare Eucocconeis depressa

Compare

Although the apices of Achnanthidium exiguum are subrostrate, the valves are not arched. Eucocconeis flexella is larger and has oval-shaped valves. The central area of E. laevis is asymmetric, and the apices are broadly rounded.
