Eunotia boomsma has higher stria and areola densities and a biundulate dorsal margin. Eunotia soleirolii has a lower areola density and lacks prominent dorsal undulations. Furthermore, the apices of E. soleirolii vary from acutely to bluntly rounded. Smaller specimens of these two taxa may be indistinguishable. Eunotia neosiberica has lower stria and areola densities, but more importantly, E. neosiberica lacks a central dorsal swelling. Eunotia pseudopectinalis has recurved, bluntly rounded apices and lacks undulate margins.
