Eunotia diadema has a constant number of 6 dorsal undulations. A specimen of E. serra with 6 undulations may be distinguished from E. diadema by having shallower undulations and a tendency for the terminal undulations to coalesce with the apices. Eunotia tetraodon and Eunotia triodon have 4 and 3 dorsal undulations, respectively.
