Tursicola ziemanii guide

  3. Striae parallel near apices

Valves are lanceolate, often with produced apices. Proximal raphe ends are deflected. The central area is diamond-shaped and intersected by a narrow, asymmetric stauros. Striae are slightly convergent (or disrupted) near the central area and parallel near the apices. Cells are apochlorotic (non-photosynthetic).
